Abstract
Bilateral sciatic neuropathy is known to be an uncommon disease. We report a case of 22-year-old female patient with bilateral sciatic nerve palsy after positioning both hip abduction. While the patient who is a musical actor was forward bent for stretch of both hips, her actor colleagues pressed her trunk suddenly and forcefully with the intention of trying to help. After then, she complained of hypesthesia and weakness on both lower extremities. Bilateral sciatic neuropathies were confirmed by physical examination and electrodiagnostic study. There is no hematoma or something to compressing the nerve through the magnetic resonance imaging study of lumbosacral spine including pelvis. We concluded that bilateral sciatic neuropathies in this case result from hyperstretching of sciatic nerves by both hip abduction.
